Raw Turmeric and peas Bhurji

For this we are presenting Raw Turmeric and Peas Bhurji, Many people think that, it will be good in taste or bitter in taste but have trust on us, this recipe will not disappoint anyone.Its delicious for tongue & good for health purpose too, it will help to remove cold & cough .So Please give a try to this recipe. Raw Turmeric and peas Bhurji

Ingredients

  1. RawTurmeric/Haldi Grated- 250 gm ( Approximately 3 cups )
  2. Green Peas – 200 gm
  3. Cow Ghee – 125 gm
  4. Whole red chilli pieces-4
  5. Mustard Seeds – 1 TSP
  6. Cumin Seeds – 1 TSP
    Ginger-Garlic Paste-1 TBSP
  7. Red Chilli Powder- 1.5 TSP
  8. Salt to Taste
  9. Mango Powder/Aamchur -1 TSP Or you can use citric acid

Process

First of all peel or scrape raw turmeric but before that apply some oil on your hands.It will prevent your hands from turning yellow in colour.After that wash it & let it dry for some time you can use tissue paper to let them dry.When turmeric is dry then grate them in big size.

Take green peas & coarsely crush them too.

Heat a pan & add ghee then add whole red chilli pieces , mustard seeds , cumin seeds , ginger garlic paste & saute it for a minute.

Now add grated turmeric & green peas, mix them well.Do not cover it.

Add red chilli powder, salt mix well & cook till it gets tender. Then add mango / aamchur powder and mix it.

After some time you will notice that ghee is leaving the edges. It is a sign that this recipe is done.Take out in a bowl.

It’s a winter special dish, it is very popular in Rajasthan.There people usually take equal amount of ghee & turmeric but here i have reduced some.

You can keep it in refrigerator for long time. you can have it side dish with your daily food. It goes well with rice, chapati, paratha, puri, daal etc.
