This time we brought street food from Kolkata , “Green Peas Paratha”.
Yummy food of Kolkata is heaven for foodies, specially their street food. So many dishes we have seen on TV too. many renowned chefs loves to make this type of food.So we should give it a try once.Here we gave a twist , we made healthy paratha not deep fried puri . We assure you that you will love this taste too. Thank You.
Green Peas Paratha
- 1 Cup – Crushed Fresh Green Peas
- 1 Tbsp– Crushed Green Chillies
- 1/2 inch– Ginger Piece
- 1/2 Tsp – Cinnamon Powder
- 1/4 Tsp– Cloves Powder
- 1/4 Tsp – Cardamom Powder
- 1/4 Tsp– Coriander Powder
- A Pinch– Asafoetida/Heeng
- 1 Tsp – Cumin Seeds
- Salt to Taste
- 1 Tbsp– Oil
- Wheat Flour Dough
Take a grinder and add green peas & ginger piece. Coarsely grind it and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan then add a pinch of asafoetida / heeng. Now quickly saute spices as follows : cumin seeds, cloves / laung powder, cinnamon powder & cardamom powder.
Now add crushed green chillies , saute well. Add in crushed green peas and coriander powder & salt to your taste , mix well.
Cook this crumbly mixture till peas raw taste is gone.It takes only 3-4 minutes.Then switch off flame, and let this mixture cool down.
Take medium size of wheat flour dough ball, roll it like a small puri then fill peas mixture into it & then fled and cover it properly, as shown in our video 👆👆👆.
Use wheat flour for dusting and roll it like a paratha ( you can make small size of paratha too ).
Now place this paratha on medium hot pan, flip it when down side is roast well.Apply oil on it and again flip it then apply oil. You can press with masher / wide plate or something to get more crispy paratha.
Paratha is ready now , Serve hot with Dum Aloo, Chutney, Raita etc.
This is a speciality of Kolkata’s street.It is very common street food there.Enjoyyyy
