Kaju Gathiya Curry

Hi Everyone,

this time we came up with a simple but tasty recipe “Kaju Gathiya Curry”.

Kaju Gathiya Curry


  1. Gaathiya- 1big bowl/250 gm
  2. Cashews-a handful
  3. Garlic chopped-1 tbsp
  4. Onion chopped-1 bowl
  5. Tomato chopped-1 bowl
  6. Green chilli chopped-1 tbsp
  7. Red chilli powder-1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
  9. Coriander powder-1/2 tsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  12. Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
  13. Asafoetida- a pinch
  14. Oil – 2 tbsp
  15. Ghee/butter-1 tbsp
  16. Coriander leaves-as required


First we will fry cashews in 1 tbsp of ghee.Here you can dry roast too.

In a kadahi heat oil and ghee then add asafoetida/heeng.Now crackle some cumin and mustard seeds.

Add garlic and fry till brown in colour then add green chilli and saute it for some time.

Now time to saute chopped onions, when  they become translucent then add tomatoes.And cook tomatoes for 2-3 min. Then add water and add all powder spices (red chilli powder, turmeric powder,coriander powder & salt.Cook masala till you oil find oil separates.

Then add water couple of glasses, boil it then add gaathiya and cashews/kaju .Boil this for couple of minutes, then turn off flame.Add coriander leaves too.

Serve hot with chapati. Enjoyyyy 🙂
