please share my new recipe for fasting days “Sawa Khichdi”.
Its very easy to make and good for stomach too.
Sawa rice | Bhagar | Samvat rice | Mordhan | moraiya | Barnyard Millet
- Sawa/Bhagar – 1 cup
- Potatoes – 2-3 boiled & chopped
- PeaNuts- 1/2 cup
- Ghee/Oil – 3-4 tbsp
- Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
- Green chilli- 2 chopped
- Curry Leaves – 10-15
- Tomato – 1 chopped
- Red chilli powder-2 tsp
- Rock salt to taste
- Water – 3 cups
Heat ghee in a wok and fry peanuts in it.Take out fried peanuts in a plate.
In that same remaining ghee add cumin seeds/jeera,green chilli, curry leaves and tomato . Fry them for 2-3 minutes.
Now add potatoes and sprinkle some salt for potato. Fry it for couple of minutes.Then goes red chilli powder again salt to taste and cook for 2 min. Now add sawa & water in it, cover wok with a plate/lid.
After some time sawa will absorb water for that you need to check in between and stir sawa.
When it absorbs all water then add coriander leaves and fried peanuts.
Serve it with curd during fasting days.Enjoyyyy
