Rajasthani Patod ki sbaji

Today we brought another Rajasthani Delicacy “Patod Ki Sabji”. When we don’t have much vegetables at home or we don’t know what to cook 😂😜😜

Patod Ki Sabji

Ingredients

for Patod

  1. Gram flour/Besan – 1 cup
  2. Water – 2 cup(we can increase too)
  3. Oil – 2 tsp
  4. Cumin seeds -1/4 tsp
  5. Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  6. Green chilli-1 chopped
  7. Red chilli powder-1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
  9. Salt -1 tsp

Process for Patod

*Take gram flour/besan in a mixing bowl then add water and make lump free batter.The consistency of this batter should be runny.

*Heat oil in a wok then add cumin & mustard seeds, let them splutter.Now add green chillies.

*After that add batter and stir continuously it, other wise batter will stick and lumps will be formed.

*Soon add water and mix it quickly.Then add turmeric, red chilli powder and salt.mix it.

*It is said, that for more time you cook besan it will be more tastier.So while cooking besan if you require more water then you can add it.Cook it till it reaches to thick consistency.

*Then turn off flame and grease a plate with oil, now pour thick batter into pan, tap it so that all bubbles goes out.and let it cool completely.

*After cooling down fully, take a knife and start cutting from side edges then cut it in small pieces.Keep these pieces aside.

for Tadka

  1. Patod pieces
  2. Oil – 2-3 tsp
  3. Asafoetida/heeng-a pinch
  4. Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
  5. Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
  6. Green chilli-2 chopped
  7. Onion -1 chopped
  8. Garlic -4-5 chopped
  9. Red chilli powder-1 tbsp
  10. Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Coriander leaves for garnishing

Process for Tadka

*Heat oil in a wok add asafoetida/heeng,then add mustard & cumin seeds.

*Then goes garlic, when it turns light brown then add green chilli & onion.Cook it for 2-4 minutes.

*Pour 1/4 cup of water then add all powdered spices, and cook it till oil separates.

*Now add patod pieces, mix well and garnish with coriander leaves.Serve Hot.Enjoyyyy 🙂
